I am a passionate Early Childhood Leader, where Relationships are the foundation of my leadership style. Build effective and responsive realtionships in our sector is so important inculding children, families and our wider leadership team.

Building the caperbilities of our people working with our children, to ensure they are tuned in on children’s cues and understand all aspects of the Circle is important for the foundations of our programs. This is where the magic happens in our learning with children and can build them indiviually to be life long learners.

I work with parents from all walks of life. specific young parents and families involved in DCF services. Services are render in both English and Spanish.

Mel provides families and individuals with a range of interventions, strategies and education to support and promote mental, emotional, social and physical health and well-being during pregnancy, early years parenting and beyond. Practical, hands on parenting support can also be provided. A strong emphasis is placed on caregiver and infant/child attachment with attachment based assessment, interventions and activities offered. Mel has been incorporating Circle of Security interventions since 2014. Individual support and strategies for mental and emotional well-being and generalist family support is also offered. Mel is passionate about, and has many years experience, in supporting families and their infant/child in various settings. Mel recognises the importance of using interventions using trauma informed practices with a therapeutic lens which underpins the strength based interventions used, this also extends to interventions such as therapeutic horticulture. Through meeting the family with where they are in their parenting journey, a range of interventions are able to be offered to align with families individual needs. Services can be delivered through outreach as arranged or via online support. Practical Parenting is also able to provide facilitators to deliver parenting groups for agencies (individually tailored or recognised programs such as Circle of Security).

Als moeder van 4 kinderen begrijp ik de uitdagingen van het ouderschap op een diep niveau. Met meer dan 20 jaar professionele ervaring heb ik samengewerkt met vele gezinnen, scholen, welzijnsstichtingen en organisaties voor jeugdhulpverlening.
